The scissor refers to the mechanical motion of the neck when it is being moved. This double parallel geometry allows the gooseneck to double as a front loading ramp. This front ramp is the access point to load/unload the rail equipment. There is an integrated rail that runs the length of the trailer to allow the rail vehicle to roll along its length.
The on-board power pack is used to power the winch and neck.
The pin-on ramps that make a smooth transition between the deck and the tail section can be removed to allow for non-rail equipment to be loaded
The integrated rails in the deck allow the car to be rolled onto the deck. The hydraulic gooseneck can be removed to allow the car to roll off the front with the aid of ramps. The neck can also lift the front of the trailer up high enough to unload the car from the rear with the aid of ramps.
